My vision is a world without barriers to mental, sexual, and reproductive health – where trusted knowledge, inclusive care, and expert support are accessible to everyone, everywhere.<\/p>\n

There are fascinating interactions between mental, sexual, and reproductive health.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the 21st century, intersectionality\u2014the use of methods and knowledge from multiple scientific fields\u2014is the safest possible way to analyze and understand our complex realities, as well as our intimate relationships.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The scientific method does not solve all problems, nor does it answer all questions. However, it provides the framework and language through which we can formulate questions. Even when we need to think unconventionally, the conventions of science remain valuable points of reference. After all, you cannot redefine the rules until you have mastered them.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Although it should arguably be unnecessary in the 21st century, this clarification is essential. Diversity and inclusion take two forms in my practice.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, every person is treated with respect and is affirmed and validated for their cultural, social, or economic background, religion, sexual orientation, sexual identity, sexual behavior, biological sex, gender identity and expression, racial or ethnic origin, or disability.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Second, the responsibility of providing an accessible, welcoming, and safe environment lies with me, as does the responsibility to continuously educate myself on historical and social power dynamics and their impact on people\u2019s mental, sexual, and reproductive health.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

No matter how persistent the effort to avoid ignorance and bias may be, they always find ways to appear. Every person is unique, and many parts of our stories are inaccessible or difficult to understand for those without similar experiences. The only certainty in this profession is that mistakes will happen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Every time, I choose to maintain a learner\u2019s stance toward my clients. Each person is the expert of their own experience, and my role is to listen carefully with an open mind, learning all that these stories have to teach me about the diversity and the spectrum of the human experience. I continuously expand my professional network at both the scientific and community levels.<\/p>\n
